Arsenal announce their released list as Arteta let go of 22 players

Arsenal have announced their released list for the new campaign and it includes experienced star Mohamed Elneny as well as a player who gained promotion while out on loan.

The Gunners lost the Premier League title to Manchester City on the final day and are eager to win next season.

However, some players will play no part in the project with Arsenal bosses Mikel Arteta Edu Gaspar eager to improve the squad.

Topping the list of released Arsenal players is Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares. Both players will depart the Gunners on June 30 and will be able to join a new team as a free agent.

Arthur Okonkwo is another notable player who has not been offered a new contract. The 22-year-old goalkeeper impressed on loan at Wrexham this season but will have to look for a new club.

The club also confirmed that discussions are ongoing regarding the contract situation with three youngsters.

“In addition, please note the following players’ contracts also expire on June 30. Discussions are ongoing and once matters are finalised between all parties, we will communicate in due course.

“The players are Amario Cozier-Duberry, Karl Hein and Reuell Walters,” it further read.

Arsenal extend its gratitude to all departing players and wishes them success in their future endeavours.

“We thank all the players leaving us for their contributions to the club. You will always be part of the Arsenal family and we wish you all the best of health and happiness in your future.

“Any further developments regarding players extending their contracts, as well as joining/re-joining, or leaving us, will be officially communicated when confirmed,” it concluded.
