Arsenal battle Man Utd for £34m rated Serie A forward, Joshua Zirkzee

Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly going head to head for the signature of Bologna centre-forward Joshua Zirkzee during this summer’s transfer window.

Arsenal are eager to strengthen their forward line this summer with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah being linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United on the other hand are looking to replace Anthony Martial who will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this June.

Zirkzee has now been linked with both Premier League clubs. According to Sky Sports News, the two giants of English football are battling for his signature, with a transfer possible this summer.

However, United and Arsenal will face stiff competition from AC Milan who are also interested in the Dutch forward.

The report claims that AC Milan are in the picture, with the San Siro giants currently in discussions with Zirkzee’s representatives over a switch.

Zirkzee currently has a release clause of €40m (£34m) in his contract, a figure that make him an affordable target in the current market.

The 23-year-old forward enjoyed a solid 2023-24 campaign for Bologna, scoring 12 goals and registering seven assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.

Zirkzee has managed 14 goals and registered nine assists in 58 appearances for his current side since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2022.
