Arsenal battle Premier League clubs in race to sign 23-year-old defender

Arsenal are prepared to go into a bidding war with Premier League clubs for the signature of Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida, who is in high demand.

Geertruida played an important role in Feyenoord last season and has been monitored by top teams in the Premier League.

According to multiple reports, Liverpool, Newcastle United, West Ham United, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with a move to signing the 23-year-old.

Despite the numbers of club interested, De Telegraaf reports that Arsenal have redirected their attention to Geertruida.

Arsenal are prepared to go into the summer transfer window with full force as they are eager to snatch the Premier League title from Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his brilliant team and attract the individuals needed to beat City in the fight for the title race. Geertruida has now been identified as a huge potential.

The current contract between the Geertruida and Feyenoord expires in June 2025. He is eager to discuss his move out of the club, with the club are also willing to discuss a transfer.

Arsenal conceeded just 29 goals at the concluded the 2023–24 campaign and are willing to add more quality to that back line.

Geertruida is not the only player on Arsenal rader, RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko has also been strongly linked to a move to North London.

It’s left to see how Arsenal’s summer business will go with the club expected to let go of fringe players while new additions will be made to the team.
