Barcelona to offer one player to Man United in swap deal for Mason Greenwood

Barcelona are prepared to offer one player to Manchester United in what is expected to be a swap deal for Mason Greenwood.

Mason Greenwood has been able to recover his form while on loan at Getafe, scoring 10 goals and registering 6 assists in Spain so far.

The 21-year-old impressive performances has caught the eye of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid who are reportedly interested in signing him during this summer transfer window.

According to HITC, Barcelona are willing to offer  Brazilian Vitor Roque to Manchester United in a straight-swap deal for Mason Greenwood.

Vitor Roque has failed to secure a starting spot under Xavi Hernandez ever since he moved to the Spanish giant from Athletico Paranaense.

While Getafe are also interested in signing Greenwood, his £40million price tag on a permanent deal might be too much for the Spanish club.

Atletico Madrid are also interested in the England international but might not be able to cough out £40million. However, they might be seeking a season long loan deal.

Greenwood still remains a Manchester United player until 2025 and it still remains to be seen whether his parent club wish to keep him.

Earlier this year, Manchester United’s new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe revealed he will assess the situation surrounding Greenwood in the summer.

“It’s quite clear we have to make a decision,” he said earlier this year.

“The process will be to understand the facts, not the hype, and then try to come to a fair decision based on values — is he a good guy or not and answer whether could he play sincerely for Manchester United well and would we be comfortable with it and would the fans be comfortable with it?”
