Bayern Munich set to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise

Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich are set to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace despite interest from Chelsea, Newcastle United and Manchester United.

Olise has been linked with top clubs for the past few weeks with Chelsea reportedly on the verge of agreeing a deal with Crystal Palace.

However, the 22-year-old will be joining Bayern Munich with the Bundesliga side expected to pay Olise’s release clause worth in the region of £60m.

According to reports, Chelsea pulled out of the deal over concerns about the overall cost of the deal. This is coming after the London club unsuccessfully attempted to sign the France Under-21 international for a fee in the region of £35m last summer.

Olise subsequently signed a new four-year deal at Selhurst Park, lasting until 2027. This saw his release clause increase to £60m.

Despite failing to make France squad for Euro 2024, Olise was picked in the France squad for the Paris Olympics, which start in July.

He scored 10 goals in 19 appearances for Palace last season, having missed several games with a hamstring injury.

Olise will reportedly be announced as Bayern Munich player in the next few days. He will become Vincent Kompany’s second signing.

Kompany was appointed as the new Bayern Munich manager following the departure of Thomas Tuchel at the end of 2023/24 season.
