Bayern Munich to pull out of Joao Palhinha’s deal over Fulham asking price

Bayern Munich were set to make Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha their first signing under Vincent Kompany but things has not worked out as planned.

Having failed to agree a deal with Fulham last summer despite both clubs reaching an agreement over a deal worth around £60m, Bayern are back for Palhinha.

However, the Bundesliga side have opted against paying Fulham’s £60m asking price and instead wants to pay £40m, according to the Telegraph.

Latest report from The Telegraph claim Bayern Munich are finding it difficult to reach an agreement with Fulham over a potential transfer due to the Premier League side asking fee.

The report claims that the German giants are willing to pay £40m which is significantly below Fulham’s reported £60m asking price.

Paulinha wants to move to Allianz Arena but he might have to wait as the two clubs are looking to find a suitable resolution.

If the deal to bring Paulinha down to Bayern does no go through, the Bundesliga giant will consider alternative options, and Everton’s Amadou Onana has been mentioned as one of the players on their radar.

Palhinha has featured in 79 competitive matches for Fulham, chipping in with eight goals and one assist.

Palhinha is currently representing his country at Euro 2024, although he has had to settle for just one substitute appearance in Portugal’s first two matches.

The defensive midfielder will be eager to see his future sorted out after the ongoing European Championship with Arsenal also linked to the Portuguese.
