Bayern Munich turn attention to Man City legend as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement

Bayern Munich are considering appointing Vincent Kompany as their next manager despite Burnley being relegated to the Championship in his first top flight role.

Vincent Kompany helped Burnley secure promotion back to the Premier League but they failed to stay up in their first try.

Despite his record with the now Championship side, Bayern Munich have discussed the possibility of appointing Kompany as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement.

According to journalists Fabrizio Romano and Christian Falk, Kompany reportedly fits the profile that the Bavarian club are looking for as their long search for Tuchel’s successor continues.

However, reports also claimed that several other clubs in the Premier League as well as across Europe have set their eyes on the ex-Manchester City captain.

Brighton and Hove Albion could be a possible option as the Seagulls are currently without a manager after the departure of Roberto De Zerbi.

Bayern Munich endured a difficult season under Thomas Tuchel, finishing third in the Bundesliga. The club have also faced rejections from Xabi Alonso, Julien Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick as the search for Tuchel’s successor continues.

Roger Schmidt, Hansi Flick, Zinedine Zidane and Jose Mourinho have also been linked with the vacant role at Bayern Munich.
