Bayern Munich willing to activate Man City star £50m release clause

Having failed to win a trophy last season, Bayern Munich are active in this summer transfer window as they hope to bring in fresh legs.

The Bundesliga giant are reportedly on the verge of signing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. However, they have also set their sight on Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva.

According to a report from English outlet Daily Star, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Bernardo Silva from Man City.

The Portugal international who recently scored at EURO 2024 has a release clause in his Etihad Stadium contract which could see him leave for as little as £50m.

Vincent Kompany sees Silva as a player who will fit his plan and Bayern are willing to trigger the release clause, hoping Silva would be willing to join Kompany’s new project.

Interestingly, Bernardo Silva played with Vincent Kompany during Kompany’s final two years as a Man City player. Therefore, the two already have a good relationship.

With Harry Kane making the switch to Bayern Munich last summer, Silva would be joining an emerging English-speaking core at Allianz Arena, so he would take little to no time to adjust to life in Munich.
