Borussia Dortmund set timeline for Sancho transfer talks with Man United

Borussia Dortmund are prepared to talk with Manchester United over the future of Jadon Sancho with the Bundesliga side.

Sancho joined Dortmund on loan from Manchester United during the January transfer window after falling out with Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

The England youngster was able to get back to his best at Dortmund and the Bundesliga side are looking at having him for another season.

Borussia Dortmund confirmed they will hold discussions over Jadon Sancho’s future after their game against Real Madrid in the Champions League final this weekend.

Speaking ahead of that game, Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl was asked about Sancho and said: “We are so proud, we are so happy that he’s in our team at the moment.

“I can see his smile every day, I can see his performance on the pitch every day. I think he will be very important for us on Saturday. He will show the world that Jadon Sancho is really back.”

Kehl was quizzed on Dortmund’s interest in signing Sancho permanently this summer after the expiration of his loan deal and added: “He’s still under contract with Man United, so nobody knows what’s going on there. We’re going to have discussions, but after the final.”

Sancho’s contract with United expires in 2026 with an option to extend it by an extra year. The England international will be eager to end the season on a high when Dortmund face Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
