Burnley relegated from Premier League following loss to Tottenham

Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League following their 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.

Needing a win to give themselves a chance of survival, Burnley took an early lead but failed to secure the three points.

Tottenham Hotspur came back from a goal down to secure all three points condemning Burnley to an immediate return to the Championship.

Burnley won just five of their 37 games at the time of their relegation. It’s left to see if Vincent Kompany will be allowed to continue his job in the Championship next season.

Meanwhile, Luton Town’s fate could be sealed as early as Saturday afternoon. Their defeat to West Ham United leaves them three points behind Nottingham Forest.

Forest could seal their survival with a draw against Chelsea later in the day. Should Forest lose to Chelsea, the relegation race will roll over to the final day of the season.

Luton must beat Fulham to have any hope of surviving, while Forest would need just a point from their meeting with Burnley if they do not get the job done on Saturday.
