Chelsea agree deal to replace current manager with Champions League winner

Chelsea have reportedly agree a deal with Lyon manager Sonia Bompastor to take over from Emma Hayes as the blues female team coach in the summer.

Undoubtedly one of the best, Chelsea will have to do without Hayes when the current season ends. The talented manager will be leaving the Blues for the United States job.

Hayes has cemented her name amongst the great in Chelsea history, winning the Women’s Super League six times with Chelsea, along with five Women’s FA Cup.

Chelsea have now taken a bold step towards getting her replacement by talking to Bompastor.

According to the Telegraph, Bompastor has agreed a deal to move to Chelsea, with her assistant manager Camille Abily.

An household name in the world of Sport, Bompastor starred for France from 2000-2013, winning an incredible 156 caps for her country before going into coaching.

The 43-year-old took over as Lyon boss in 2021 and has won the Division 1 Féminine title twice along with the Women’s Champions League in 2022.

Bompastor will be eager to replicate the magic she performed at Lyon with Chelsea when she’s finally announced as their new manager.
