Ex-Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to make Premier League return

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been linked with the vacant managerial role at Leicester City.

Leicester City won promotion back to the Premier League by winning the Championship but their manager Enzo Maresca has left the club to join Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca signed a five years contract with Chelsea leaving Leicester City with a void to fill ahead of the new season. The East Midlands club are now in the process of shortlisting candidates for their vacancy and according to The Sun the Norwegian is on the list.

The Sun claim that chairman Top Srivaddhanaprabha highly rates Solskjaer and had shortlisted him for the job last summer before choosing to go with Enzo Maresca instead.

It is understood that Leicester have already made initial contact with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is thought to be keen on the job at the King Power Stadium.

Solskjaer was sacked by United in November 2021 and has been out of job since then. The Norwegian has kept a low profile in professional football and returned to his native Norway to conduct youth coaching.

He has been linked with various clubs in the past with Besiktas reportedly interested in him before they announced former Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst as their manager.
