Guardiola sends warning to Man City despite resounding victory over Tottenham

Manchester City are a game away from winning the 2023/24 Premier League title after a resounding 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.

Erling Haaland’s brace ensured City top Arsenal with one point. The Citizens need to win their last match against West Ham United to be crowned champions for the fourth consecutive season.

However, Pep Guardiola has sent a strong warning to his squad ahead of the deciding match against West Ham United.

According to Guardiola, Sunday will be another huge game and City have to be prepared.

He said: “On Sunday for us against West Ham, we will feel the pressure.

“Look at Aston Villa (on the last day) a few seasons ago, we were 2-0 down 15 minutes to go. Sergio Aguero against QPR (in 2012) went to 93 minutes. It is normal. That is why we talk and say everyone has to relax.

“They are human beings, I understand the pressure. Not even Arsenal played well against Manchester United, they knew if they did not win there they would not win the Premier League.

“The players are not celebrating anything. Happy of course, relieved because we wanted to arrive to the last game. We know we have a job to do and our people will support us of course.

“Now it is Kudus, Antonio, Bowen, Ward-Prowse and Soucek with the set pieces. Anything can happen. Like I said before, to win Wimbledon, tennis players say the serve to win is the most difficult. We need to prepare well, focus and try again.”

Pep Guardiola will be eager to see a determined City side as they face West Ham United in the final game of the season while Arsenal face Everton.
