Hansi Flick reportedly makes his first transfer request at Barcelona

Barcelona have started a new phase under former Bayern Munich and Germany manager Hansi Flick after a disappointing 2023/24 season.

The Catalonia club failed to win a trophy in Xavi Hernandez’s second season at the club and the Spaniard was fired after a fallout with club president Joao Laporta.

Flick who replace Xavi has now make his first transfer request as he aims to build a team capable of competing with Real Madrid.

According to a report from SPORT, Barcelona have contacted Bayern Leverkusen over the possibility of signing Jeremie Frimpong.

It is suggested that Hansi Flick has suggested Frimpong as a potential player for the team, and Barcelona have already made an initial offer.

Frimpong played an important role in Bayern Leverkusen’s Bundesliga victory and has been linked with a move to some clubs in Europe.

Though Barcelona are currently going through financial crisis, they are willing to work on a deal will see Frimpong play for them next season. Frimpong is valued €50 million value on ‘Transfermarkt’ but Barca understands how to do business.

Frimpong on the other hand will decide his future after the European Championship, but it must be noted that the deal might involve other players, with Bayer showing interest in Ansu Fati as part of the negotiations.
