Real Madrid youngster, Jude Bellingham is currently ranked among the best football players in the world, however, he could have been playing for Manchester United.
Jude Bellingham joined Real Madrid in the summer for £88m after proving himself in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.
His first season in La Liga has yield enough profit for Real Madrid. The England international has featured 26 times for Los Blancos in La Liga, scoring 18 goals and providing four assists.
However, latest reports from Sky Sports claimed he was on the verge of joining Manchester United in 2020.
According to Sky Sports, the Red Devils submitted a bid over £30m for Bellingham when he was just 16.
Manchester United were eager to sign the Bellingham following a breakthrough campaign at Birmingham City.
At the start of the 2019/20 campaign, Bellingham became Birmingham City’s youngest player at 16 years and 38 days when he featured in a Carabao Cup first-round tie against Portsmouth.
The England international snubbed Manchester United and joined Borussia Dortmund. According to The Athletic, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer called upon Sir Alex Ferguson to help the Red Devils sign Bellingham.
The report states that the Scotsman was introduced to the teenager, though only briefly. However, John Murtough, who recently stepped down as football director, didn’t allow Bellingham and Ferguson time to talk; that left the legendary boss ‘incandescent’.
Instead, the former Manchester United chief offered the youngster and his parents a guided tour of the club’s facilities.
United’s decision not to sign Bellingham might come back to hunt them, the England international has grown to become an important player for club and country.
He has been tipped to win the Ballon d’Or award in the future.
