Jose Mourinho set to be named new manager of Fenerbahce

Former Roma manager Jose Mourinho is set to be named the new manager of Fenerbahçe as he’s set to sign a two years deal.

Undoubtedly one of the most successful managers in football history, Jose Mourinho has been out of job ever since he was shown the exit door at Roma.

According to reports from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, José Mourinho’s verbal agreement with Fenerbahçe is on two year contract valid until June 2026.

The contract will also include an option for further season.

Jose Mourinho is set to replace Ismail Kartal at the Turkish giants, in what would be his 11th managerial role. The Portuguese was earlier linked with a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah, but seemingly his next destination is Turkey.

Fenerbahce finished second in the league last season on a mammoth 99 points, but the tally was still three points shy of their bitter rivals Galatasaray.

Mourinho will be tasked with bringing glory back to Istanbul, and his track record speaks for itself.

The Portuguese tactician record speaks for him. He has only gone trophyless in one of his last seven roles in management, at Tottenham.

Mourinho has won multiple league titles in his career, triumphing in England with Chelsea, Italy with Inter Milan, and Spain with Real Madrid. He also brought home the Champions League trophy in his final match with Inter in 2010.
