Lionel Messi achieves new feat, wins first-ever MLS Player of the Month award

Inter Miami forward, Lionel Messi has been voted the MLS Player of the Month for April following his 10 goal-contributions.

The Argentina international had a sensational month, leading Inter Miami to an undefeated month across league play.

Inter Miami in April recorded three wins and one draw, Messi accumulated six goals and four assists in four matches, putting on a brilliant performance week in and week out.

MLS Player of the Month is voted upon by a panel of select national media members in a process conducted by MLS Communications

Lionel Messi will be eager to continue his good form for Inter Miami as they aim to win trophies this season.

The Argentine has taken MLS by storm since returning from injury in early April after missing four games for Inter Miami.

Messi’s performances fully put him in contention for the MLS Golden Boot Race and is an early frontrunner for the 2024 MLS MVP.

Inter Miami will continue their season with an MLS action against the New York Red Bulls this weekend. It’s an Eastern Conference showdown between Inter Miami who are currently placed first and New York Red placed third on the log.
