Liverpool duo set to miss Euro 2024 as England trim squad to 26-man team

Liverpool are well represented at National Team level with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Darwin Nunez representing their country.

However, two Liverpool players will not be fulfilling their dream of playing at a major tournament with the English national team.

England manager Gareth Southgate will be revealing his 26-man team on Saturday and it has been reported that Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah will not make the team.

The latest report is coming just hours after Tottenham Hotspur star midfielder James Maddison was told he will not make the team.

Numerous reports state Southgate has informed Jones that there will be no place for him in the final squad. Centre-back Quansah is also expected to miss out.

Despite the ommison of Jones and Quansah, Liverpool will still have representation in the Three Lions camp. Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold’s will retain his place in the team while versatile defender Joe Gomez faces a battle to hold on to his spot.

Gomez played the later stages of England’s 3-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina and will hope to see more minutes in Friday’s friendly against Iceland.
