Liverpool star set to break European Championship record at EURO 2024

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai is set to break a European Championship record at Euro 2024 when Hungary face Switzerland this weekend.

Dominik Szoboszlai has been outstanding since he joined the Reds last summer and he’s set to lead Hungary across the tournament in a group that also features Germany and Scotland.

Unless he miss the match through injury, Szoboszlai will become the youngest captain in UEFA European Championship history if he leads Hungary out for their opening group match.

Szoboszlai missed the last tournament in 2021 due to injury but he has stayed fit this time around to lead his darling country.

The young midfielder enters the tournament after a strong debut season in England for Liverpool where he established himself as a key figure at Anfield.

He managed seven goals and four assists in 45 appearances and it’s clear he will only get better as he is still only 23 years old.

On the international stage, Szoboszlai made his debut in 2019 and has captained the side for two and a half years, netting 12 times in 42 appearances.
