Luis Suarez to sit out of Inter Miami’s upcoming matches

Inter Miami are set to be without the service of Luis Suarez for their upcoming matches with the Uruguayan international called up for this summer’s Copa America.

Luis Suarez was named among Uruguay’s 26-man group for the upcoming tournament – despite ongoing knee issues for the striker.

The former Liverpool and Barcelona forward will be missing in action for Inter Miami alongside Messi who was also listed among Argentina squad for the tournament.

2024 Copa America will run from June 20-July 14. Uruguay are ranked among the favourite but they face a stiff competition from Brazil and Argentina.

Uruguay take on tournament hosts the US, Panama and Bolivia in their group. On the other hand, Argentina will kickstart their campaign on June 20 when they entertain Canada and also have Peru and Chile in their group.

While Inter Miami will miss both players, they currently sit top of Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference.

Suarez has scored 12 goals and bagged five assists in the MLS this season and Messi has found the net on 12 occasions and turned provider nine times.
