Premier League giant, Manchester City are set to be without John Stones for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash with Real Madrid.

Manchester City played out a 3-3 draw with Real Madrid in the first leg tie in Spain and it promises to be another entertaining tie in England.

Pep Guardiola will now have to play the game without John Stones who was a surprise omission from the squad that played Luton Town in City’s weekend Premier League clash.

John Stones was missing in action as the citizens trash Luton Town 5-1 in front of their supporters in Manchester.

The England international has been an important figure in Pep Guardiola’s team.

Stones operates a unique role in the City team as he has been used as a defender and also a defensive midfielder.

With Stones a doubt going into the match against Real Madrid, Pep Guardiola might have to call on Manuel Akanji or Rico Lewis.

Manchester City will be heading into the game against Real Madrid full of confidence.

Biggest positive from the match against Luton was Erling Haaland getting back on the score sheet. The Norway international has failed to score in his last three matches before the Luton game.
