Manchester City’s £45m star considering leaving Premier League

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is considering leaving the Premier League for a new adventure after another disappointing season.

Despite Man City dominating the league, Kalvin Phillips failed to make a name for himself at the club and was allowed to join West Ham United on loan.

Joining West Ham was meant to be a new phase in Philips’ career but he failed to play at the highest level for the Hammers and was widely criticised for his performances.

Philips is now considering leaving the Premier League to resurrect his career, with ‘clubs from Germany, Italy and Austria keen on the Man City midfielder.

According to reports The Sun, Philips who has been linked with a move to Everton is now pondering leaving the Premier League entirely.

Germany’s RB Leipzig, Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg and Serie A giants Roma are all understood to be keen on the England international.

City will be willing to listen to offers for the England international who Pep Guardiola accused of being overweight in his first season at the club.

Phillips was left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the March internationals, and he was not named in the provisional 33-man training group for Euro 2024 last week.

Though City paid £45m on him in 2022, the Citizens are likely to get at least £20m for his sale as Philips looks for a fresh start elsewhere following a difficult two years.
