Arsenal forward, Gabriel Martinelli has taken to social media to celebrate with former teammate, Granit Xhaka, who won the Bundesliga title with Bayern Leverkusen.

Just hours after Arsenal lost ground in the Premier League title race, Bayern Leverkusen secured a 5-0 win over Werder Bremen to seal the Bundesliga title.

Following the defeat, Arsenal players have been rather quiet on social media however Martinelli has penned a title message to Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka who couldn’t hide his excitement posted on Instagram a picture of him holding the trophy. The caption read: “FIGHT FOR YOUR DREAMS AND TURN THEM INTO REALITY!”

Spotted in the comment section was Xhaka’s former teammates. Martinelli commented three red heart emojis while another ex-Arsenal star in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also praised his old team-mate.

He wrote: “Was geht alta, [two laughing, two hands together and three flame emojis] My friend big respect to you [red heart emoji].” The first phrase translates from German to English as ‘what’s up’.

Martinelli will be hoping his Arsenal teammates can take positive out of Xhaka’s success as they battle it out with Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title.
