Mason Greenwood issues statement amidst his unclear Man Utd future

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has sent a strong message to Getafe fans following the expiration of his season long loan deal.

Greenwood joined the La Liga outfit last September after concluding an internal investigation into the player’s behaviour.

Despite various controversies about his return, Greenwood was able to move past it by putting up impressive performances for Getafe.

Greenwood enjoyed a revival during his temporary spell with Getafe as he bagged 10 goals and six assists in 35 appearances.

With the England international set to return to Manchester United next season, Greenwood after playing the full 90 minutes in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Mallorca on Sunday afternoon sent a message to Getafe fans.

The forward wrote on Instagram: “Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season.

“Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my team-mates and club. A bitter sweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best.”

Greenwood’s future at Manchester United remains unclear. United are reportedly willing to cash out on the England youngster with clubs across Europe monitoring the situation.

Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli all said to be in the frame to sign him.
