Napoli have opened talks with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia over a new contract amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain who are eager to sign Kylian Mbappe’s replacement.

Kylian Mbappe left PSG after his contract ran out and will be announced as a Real Madrid player in the next few days.

PSG are eager to move past the Frenchman and have identified Kvaratskhelia as a perfect replacement.

However, Napoli are working to secure the future of Kvaratskhelia who is considered central to the club’s plans for the future, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Georgian’s contract runs until 2027 and Napoli are thought to have a €100 million (£85m/$109m) offer from PSG on the table for the winger.

Kvaratskhelia has played a huge part in Napoli success in the past few months and with Antonio Conte set to be appointed as the new manager, the team is likely to be built around him.

Antonio Conte is pushing for the club to keep Kvaratskhelia. Reports also claim star striker Victor Osimhen will also be convinced to stay another season in Italy.

It’s been a difficult season for Napoli, following their title-winning triumph in 2022-23, and Conte will be eager to start a new era at the club with the team’s best players on his return to management.
