PSG to rival Arsenal for £25m highly-rated Feyenoord defender

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida who is also on Arsenal radar.

After failing to win the Premier League title last season, Arsenal are looking at strengthen their backline with a new defender.

Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko have been told they are free to leave while Jurrien Timber has returned from an ACL injury. Arsenal will need another option at left-back, as well as right-back as they currently lack cover for Ben White.

Though Arsenal have identified Lutsharel Geertruida as a perfect replacement for the departing players, they are set to face stiff competition from PSG.

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSG have added the defender to their list of options as they target a new centre-back.

Geertruida is also attracting interest from Liverpool after his former boss Arne Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. Multiple reports claimed he will be willing to reunite with his former boss.

A versatile defender, Geertruida has also operated in a defensive midfield role under Slot at Feyenoord and is reportedly valued at around £25 million.

If PSG fail to convince him, the Ligue 1 champion are also looking at Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.
