Ten Hag makes FA Cup promise to United fans after epic win over Newcastle

Manchester United ended their bad run of form in the Premier League on Wednesday night when they defeated Newcastle United 3-2.

In what was their last home game for the season, Erik ten Hag’s team failed to convince fans with their performance but were able to walk away with all three points.

Speaking after the match, Erik ten Hag addressed Manchester United fans, noting that his players will give everything to win the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

“On behalf of the players, staff and myself I want to thank you all for the brilliant support during this season,” he told the Old Trafford crowd.

“As you know it wasn’t an easy season, but one thing remained constant and that was the backing of you for the team.

“This season is not over yet. First we go to Brighton where we travel for three points and then we go to Wembley. And I promise you those players will give everything to get that cup and bring it to Old Trafford.

“We are sure you will be there supporting us – thank you, you are the best supporters in the world.”

Manchester United will be facing Manchester City at Wembley Stadium in May 25 for this season FA Cup.

The FA serves as a route for the Red Devils to qualify for European football next season. Manchester United can qualify for the Europa League if they beat Man City in the final of the FA Cup.

On the other hand, United can also qualify for Europe if they get a positive result away to Brighton on Sunday while hoping Newcastle falter at Brentford.
