Thomas Tuchel reveals Bayern Munich’s philosophy compared to other top clubs

Thomas Tuchel has insisted that Bayern Munich defines itself less by style than by pure results as the German tactician prepares for his exit from the club.

Bayern Munich have parted ways with Thomas Tuchel after a troubling season that saw them end without a trophy.

Despite winning the Bundesliga in his first season, Tuchel has failed to live to expectations in his first full season with German side.

The former Chelsea manager has now revealed the difference between Bayern Munich’s philosophy and other top clubs in Europe.

“The fact is that teams like Arsenal FC, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain in the league are defined by the quality of their ball possession. It’s difficult to win the ball there. Liverpool also have a lot of possession, but they also come through counter-pressing. It’s too complex to say that you win titles with counter-attacks,” Tuchel said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

“It’s the art of mastering everything. Real Madrid have made the competition (Champions League) their own to a certain extent. You can’t define Champions League success in terms of possession. I don’t know whether Bayern have always defined themselves by a style, but by the result. When I was young, what I knew is that Bayern always wins in the end.”

Despite failing to convince Bayern Munich’s top hierarchy with his performance, Tuchel has been linked with other jobs in Europe.

The former Borrussia Dortmund tactician has been linked with Manchester United as Erik ten Hag continue to be linked with a move out of Old Trafford.

Reports have also claimed Bayern Munich are willing to retain Thomas Tuchel as they’ve failed to reach an agreement with their desired choices.
