International sports research center CIES has revealed the top ten most valuable player in the world with Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham topping the list.
Bellingham signed to Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in summer 2023 for a transfer fee of $144 million, but his value has doubled after one season.
In the previous update in January 2024, Bellingham was valued at about $293 million by CIES, which made him the most valuable player in the world.
Bellingham has been able to prove himself at Real Madrid scoring 23 goals and providing 12 assists in 41 matches across all competitions. He also helped Madrid win La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.
In La Liga, Bellingham scored 19 goals and assisted six in 28 games. Bellingham also won the La Liga’s Player of the Year for the 2023-2024 season.
According to CIES, the second most expensive player in the world is Manchester City forward, Erling Haaland at $276 million.
Haaland in the 2023/24 season scored 27 goals to help Pep Guardiola’s team set a record of winning four consecutive league titles.
Followed Haaland is Madrid’s Brazilian duo, Vinicius at $260 million and Rodrygo at $239 million. Phil Foden, who has just won Premier League Player of the Season, is the fifth most expensive in the world at $220 million.
The remaining players in the top 10 are Bukayo Saka ($211 million), Julian Alvarez ($182 million), Lamine Yamal ($152 million), Martin Odegaard ($146 million) and Florian Wirtz ($144 million).
The most valuable player not playing in Europe is 17-year-old striker Endrick of Palmeiras at $99.5 million. Endrick was once the most expensive 16-year-old player of all time, when he was signed by Madrid for a transfer fee of $76 million.
